Location. On a quiet street in the central business district of New Orleans, La., the four story St. James Hotel sits two blocks from the historic French Quarter and the trendy shops along the Riverwalk. Harrah's New Orleans Casino & Hotel is three blocks away. The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is six blocks away.
Hotel Features. Complete with patio tables and potted plants in a charming courtyards, the St. James Hotel is home to the celebrated French bistro Cuvee, which serves nouveau New Orleans cuisine, from jumbo lump crab cake and shrimp remoulade to rabbit confit and seafood bouillabaisse. A small pool graces the courtyard. Wireless Internet access is offered thorughtout the hotel.
Guestrooms. The 86 guestrooms feature elegant "British West Indies style" accentuated by two post beds with 300 thread count linens, rich tapestries and antique style teakwood furniture. Guestroom amenities include wireless Internet access and video game consoles. The blue tropics line of Casswell Massey toiletries and makeup mirrors are offered in the bathrooms.
Expert Tip. Legend has it that a previous incarnations of the St. James Hotel were a coffee roasting building and the first floor guestrooms are rumored to be where the Texas Revolution was plotted.
